Mathematics Jobs Wiki 2020-2021
Welcome to the Mathematics Jobs Wiki 2020-2021 research positions page. This page collects information about the academic mathematics job market: positions, short lists, offers, acceptances, etc. It lists positions at PhD-granting departments (including stat and applied math), and at departments that are research-oriented by other reasonable criteria. See the teaching positions page for more teaching-oriented academic math jobs.

[edit] Why Ethereum Remains the Backbone of DeFi and NFTs in 2025
You may have heard how every year, there are new blockchains claiming to replace Ethereum. But here we are in 2025: Ethereum continues to be the center of decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Regardless of the constant discussions of scalability, commissions, and rivalry, the fact remains that Ethereum is the place where the digital economy strives.
Whenever I am in need of separating the chaff and making sense of the current state of Ethereum, I visit the news on the AltcoinDesk. It is among the few where things are broken down simply, but not losing the details. The deeper I go, the more I have to understand: Ethereum is not only surviving, but is actually thriving.
Why Ethereum Stands Strong in 2025
The thing is that crypto is dynamic. The ups and downs of a project take place overnight. Ethereum lacks one thing its competitors do not, however: time-proven credibility. It has seen real-life performance in bull runs and bear markets, which demonstrates its network can survive real-life applications.
The chain is more effective because of the parts of scalability, like sharding and rollups. Gas fees, which were the greatest issue, are now easily handled. Ethereum continues to be the first choice by developers when creating DeFi applications and NFT platforms. It is due to the size of the ecosystem, the stability of the tools, and unparalleled security.
And should you have been reading up on the latest Ethereum upgrades on AltcoinDesk, then you know it is only gaining strength.
Ethereum and the DeFi Revolution
It is not that DeFi is just a buzzword anymore, but it is a financial system. Ethereum protocols encode billions of dollars every day. Staking, lending, borrowing, and yield farming are not experimental anymore. And they are the necessities of the world of investors and institutions.
Ethereum is the secured decentralized foundation layer enabling DeFi to work. Other chains attempt to duplicate it, yet they find it difficult to adopt it and trust it. When it comes to comparing activity, Ethereum-based DeFi applications are still on top of the list.
The AltcoinDesk coverage is interesting whenever I want to learn where DeFi is moving to. They point out the trends that are truly important, in particular, how Ethereum is driving financial innovation that banks can no longer ignore.
Ethereum’s Role in NFTs and Digital Ownership By 2025, NFTs will have gone through their hype phase in 2021, and they will be substantially larger. Whether it is digital art or real estate tokens, NFTs are changing the way we conceptualize ownership. And it is just-- And guess what? The chain that is preferred is still Ethereum.
Why? Due to the structure, Ethereum has the infrastructure. Thanks to marketplaces, wallets, and smart contract standards such as ERC-721 and ERC-1155, it has become the go-to place for NFTs. Creators, collectors, and businesses are more trusting of it than others.
AltcoinDesk frequently reminds that Ethereum continues to lead the way in NFTs. Ethereum is the springboard on which all innovation comes to life before anything happens elsewhere.
Why Institutions Still Trust Ethereum
The thing is, big money can not relocate without trust. Organisations have adopted Ethereum as their preferred blockchain. Ethereum continues to draw attention regardless of whether it is asset tokenization, cross-border payments, or compliance-ready DeFi solutions.
Bank institutions are piloting tokenized bonds, government entities are considering the use of Ethereum-based digital ID, and worldwide corporations are developing on the network. This does not occur by chance but because Ethereum has the track record and stability that others do not.
Read institutional reports on AltcoinDesk, and you can get what the extent of this trust. They are not on the sidelines; they are developing on Ethereum.
How AltcoinDesk Helps You Stay Ahead with Ethereum
The fact of the matter is that it is not easy to keep pace with Ethereum in 2025. There are continuous upgrades, new protocols, and changing narratives. That is why a credible source such as AltcoinDesk is important.
On Altcoindesk, you won't just be able to find the latest Ethereum news but also insightful articles on how the altcoin is redefining the future of money, art, and technology. It is a place where amateur and veteran investors can make sense out of one of the fastest-changing ecosystems.
AltcoinDesk is one of the resources to keep yourself tethered to, in case you are serious about learning about why Ethereum is the bedrock of DeFi and NFTs. Conclusion
When put into perspective, there is nothing complex to add; Ethereum has staying power. It is not merely a blockchain, but the tech that underlies DeFi, NFT and the entry of the institutions into the crypto space.
Entrants will come in and out. In 2025 however, Ethereum still forms the backbone of this digital economy. You want to be finger on the pulse of what is going on, and then AltcoinDesk is the site that makes sense of it.

A shortlist reported on this wiki is the list of candidates who were invited to give a talk ("Einladung zum Vorstellungsvortrag"); the order of the names has no significance. Official rankings of candidates ("Listenplätze"), if known, are indicated by a number in parentheses after a name, or they are implied by the order in which candidates who received offers ("Rufe") are listed.
Preferred sorting order of names: Offers and acceptances in chronological order, followed by all other invited candidates in alphabetical order.
If possible, include a hyperlink or HTML comment after a listed name, indicating the source of the information posted. For example, many university publications provide official information on offers and filled positions.

Faculty searches in Germany do not follow the academic year schedule and sometimes take very long. We continue to collect information about these faculty positions (for jobs with deadlines before July 2019) in the Mathematics Jobs Wiki 2018-2019 or pages corresponding to earlier years (use the navigation sidebar or Main Page).
