Hello, contributor at 98.223.185.201. I don't agree with your style changes to the "area" column. Please take another look at the abbreviation key. We use "(a)" and other abbreviations to distinguish an applied math *department* from a pure math department (when both exist). We don't use these abbreviations for areas - they don't improve readability and don't mix we'll with the abbreviations that we have for tenured (t) and open rank (o) positions.
